Fisher/Mill Plain — Students in Holly Benson’s Spanish classes at Union High School in Camas learned what it means to give this holiday season. This is the third year the classes have adopted a family through the Salvation Army. Benson selects a Hispanic family, so the students have a chance to practice their Spanish and be more aware of diversity in their community. On Dec. 16, the students delivered 30 wrapped gifts, $70 in gift cards and about a week’s worth of groceries to this year’s selected family.
