Vancouver — The Community Foundation for Southwest Washington is seeking nominations for the 2011 First Citizen Award.

An annual tradition since 1939, the Clark County honor goes to an individual or individuals who model exemplary citizenship through their actions and services to the community.

Nominations are open through April 8. For a criteria overview and instructions, see: http://www.cfsww.org/events.

Recipients are selected by a volunteer committee of community leaders and past award recipients.

Nominees are judged by accomplishments and contributions in a number of areas, including effectiveness in leadership roles, raising community standards and expectations, strengthening community identity and civic pride, and exemplary giving of time, self and resources.

For a full listing of criteria and of past winners, see http://www.cfsww.org/events/firstcitizenaward/.
