OSLO, Norway (AP) — Austria’s ski jumpers have again showed their superiority, easily winning the team event at the Nordic skiing world championships.
Thomas Morgenstern and Andreas Kofler finished 1-2 in the individual event Saturday. A team that also included Gregor Schlierenzauer and Martin Koch dominated from start to finish to win with 1,025.5 points.
Norway took the silver medal with 1,000.5 points, ahead of Germany with 968.2.
This was Austria’s third ski jumping gold at the worlds after Morgenstern’s win and Daniel Iraschko’s victory in the women’s event.
Austria also dominated team ski jumping at the Vancouver Olympics and the 2009 world championships.
