SALMON CREEK — Washington State University Vancouver has formally named Rhona Sen Hoss its assistant director of development, charged with raising $20 million locally by 2015. That’s part of a systemwide WSU $1 billion capital fund campaign launched in December.

Money raised for the WSUV campaign will fund student scholarships, research and facilities at the Salmon Creek campus, school officials said.

Sen Hoss most recently worked as community partnerships manager for The Columbian, part of a 25-year career in developing and managing special events and fundraising.

As executive director of the former organization Southwest Washington Independent Forward Thrust, or SWIFT, she raised $2.3 million in 10 years, and distributed grants to numerous local groups.

Sen Hoss has helped lead several other volunteer efforts, such as the Pink Power fundraiser and other events for Southwest Washington Medical Center to fund the Kearney Breast Center and a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit addition.

She continues to serve as a Clark College trustee and on other local boards of directors.
