Furman defeats The Citadel 88-67

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Amu Saaka scored 20 points and Furman defeated The Citadel 88-67 on Saturday.

The Paladins shot a season-best 59.3 percent (32 of 54) from the field — including 65.2 percent in the second half (15 of 23). The Paladins started the second half on a 10-0 run and led 47-26 with 17:31 to play in the game.

The Citadel got as close as eight points, but a 19-5 Paladins run pushed the lead to 74-52 with 5:39 remaining. The Bulldogs would get no closer than 20 points the rest of the way.

Jordan Miller added 18 points and Colin Reddick had 13 for the Paladins (11-4, 3-1 Southern Conference), who have won 15 of the past 20 games in the series.

Furman turned 10 Bulldogs’ turnovers into 17 points and outscored the Bulldogs 30-22 in the paint.

Cameron Wells led the Bulldogs (5-11, 1-3) with 22 points, Zach Urbanus added 12 and Mike Groselle had 11.
