KEMPTON, England (AP) — Kauto Star was denied a record fifth King George VI Chase victory on Saturday, finishing third behind winner Long Run and Riverside Theatre.
With 15-time champion jockey Tony McCoy in the saddle, Kauto Star was attempting to surpass the record of four race victories he held jointly with Desert Orchid.
The race was held three weeks late because of a frozen track at Kempton Park.
