YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) — Chris Blake scored a career-high 20 points and Eli Holman had a double-double to lead Detroit to a 73-69 win over Youngstown State on Saturday night.

Holman finished with 11 points and 16 rebounds for the Titans (11-10, 5-4 Horizon League), who won their second straight. Chase Simon had 14 points and Donavan Foster added 12.

Detroit had a tough time pulling away from the Penguins (7-12, 1-8), who made 11 3-pointers to stay in the game but it wasn’t enough. Kendrick Perry knocked down a 3 with 19 seconds left to play, cutting the Titans’ lead to 70-69.

Nick Minnerath put Detroit ahead by two points with a free throw. Youngstown State tried to take the lead on a 3-point attempt by Blake Allen, but it missed.

Blake hit two free throws to give the Titans enough cushion.

Allen and Vytas Sulskis each led the Penguins with 15 points.
