Presbyterian rallies to beat Radford 67-61

CLINTON, S.C. (AP) — Khalid Mutakabbir and Walt Allen hit back-to-back 3-pointers to spark Presbyterian’s game-winning run in a 67-61 victory over Radford on Saturday night.

The Blue Hose (9-12, 3-6 Big South Conference) trailed 58-51 when Mutakabbir and Allen started a 14-0 spurt. Mutakabbir then made two more field goals and Jay Reynolds had one of his three steals to give the ball back to Presbyterian. Pierre Miller hit both of his free throws on the ensuing possession to put the Blue Hose up 65-58.

Jake Troyli led Presbyterian with 21 points, Mutakabbir finished with 17 points and Allen had 14.

The Blue Hose shot 92.9 percent from the free-throw line (13 of 14), including going 10 of 10 in the second half.

The Highlanders (4-15, 1-8) shot 61.5 percent from the field in the first half (16 of 26) to lead 37-36 at the break.

Blake Smith scored 13 points for the Highlanders.
