Deadline to inscribe bricks is July 15

Help beautify Vancouver’s historic town square — and add your name, or the name of a loved one, to the landscape, too.

The Parks Foundation is selling inscribed bricks in Propstra Square, near the bell tower in the southeast corner of Esther Short Park, for $100 each. Each brick can hold up to 18 characters, including spaces. The order deadline to have a brick inscribed this summer is July 15. The inscription date is tentatively set for the week of July 25.

Funds raised through the sale of inscribed bricks help pay for flowers and landscaping in Esther Short Park, at West Esther and Eighth streets in downtown Vancouver.

This spring, the Parks Foundation purchased $2,580 of flowers through brick sales. More than 40 volunteers pitched in to do the job at a cost-cutting work party.
