Letter: Fireworks problems worse than ever

The Columbian
Published: July 8, 2011, 12:00am

Private fireworks have left a mess in my yard, on my car, on my roof, even hitting my front door. This has got to be better controlled or, better yet, eliminated. My car even has burn marks on it from the falling debris, and my home has several other marks of being hit.

The neighborhood street was full of many visiting cars, so the “party” was not just the residents. The noise started about 9:30 p.m. and did not stop until after midnight. I have lived in my home 22 years and this was by far the worst.

Believe me, I will vote for any laws to restrict or eliminate private fireworks in the future.
