Collision near Gold Bar kills 1, injures 4

GOLD BAR, Wash. (AP) -- The Snohomish County sheriff's office says one person was killed and four injured in a head-on collision Thursday on Highway 2 near Gold Bar.

One man died at the scene about 11:30 a.m. Two people were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and two others were taken to Everett hospitals.

The highway was closed for the sheriff's office investigation.
