Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run collision in Hazel Dell early Saturday morning

Incident occurred on N.E. Highway 99 near 82nd Street

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run incident early Saturday morning on Highway 99 in Hazel Dell, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office reported.

At around 12:44 a.m. Saturday, a witness called to report a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle on Northeast Highway 99 near the intersection with Northeast 82nd Street. Witnesses reported that the vehicle fled the scene immediately after the collision.

By the time first responders reached the scene, the pedestrian had died. Officials said family of the pedestrian has been notified.

Highway 99 between 78th and 82nd streets was closed for several hours while the sheriff’s office conducted an investigation. The location of the collision is lowly lit, with no crosswalk.
