Fircrest — Fircrest neighbors dedicated a tree in Fircrest Park in late June to Ralph Peabody, a longtime neighborhood activist. Among other things, Peabody was instrumental in getting the sidewalk installed on the south side of Ninth Street, as well as the proper type and height of speed bumps along the same road.

A second tree was dedicated to Harley H. Hall, an Evergreen High School grad, in memory of all prisoners of war and missing in action military personnel. Hall was the last Navy air casualty of the Vietnam War.
