CRATER LAKE NATIONAL PARK, Ore. (AP) — Crater Lake National Park has opened its Rim Drive for the summer season.

The 33-mile road circles around the rim of the caldera above the lake formed after the eruption of an ancient volcano in central Oregon. Park officials say all facilities and services are open, including boat tours and the 16-site Lost Creek Campground.

Visitors can enjoy spectacular views of Crater Lake from many vista points along the scenic Rim Drive. But officials warn that most trails are still covered with snow and downed trees and branches.
