Old Evergreen Highway — Who says seniors have to stay inside all day and quit living life? More than 150 Southwest Washington seniors defied that stereotype during a free fishing festival sponsored by Columbia Springs. The festival, located at the site of the historic Vancouver Trout Hatchery on Southeast Evergreen Highway, was aimed at giving seniors an opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors. The seniors caught rainbow trout, enjoyed a free barbecue lunch and music performed by Another Shade of Bluegrass. Some participants said they had never caught a fish before and others admitted they had not picked up a pole in years.
