OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Gov. Chris Gregoire says she will decide this month whether to run for re-election.
The Democrat said Tuesday it’s important for her to make a decision soon so that she or another candidate can begin to campaign aggressively.
Attorney General Rob McKenna plans to officially launch his gubernatorial campaign from the Republican side on Wednesday. That’s according to two Republicans familiar with his planning who spoke on condition of anonymity so as not to pre-empt McKenna’s announcement.
Gregoire declined to comment on McKenna’s anticipated announcement. She plans to privately discuss her own future with her family this weekend.
Gregoire and McKenna were both elected to their current posts in 2004.
