Esther Short — Vancouver’s Downtown Association has launched a membership drive to gain 50 new members in 50 days — in time for its next public meeting, on July 14. “Memberships are critical to our work,” said VDA President Linda Glover. “They bring us a larger collective voice in advocating for our downtown core, dollars to deliver projects, and a broader base of ideas from which to draw.” There are membership rates for property owners, small businesses, large businesses and individuals. VDA has 145 members. Its projects include storefront improvement, business recruitment, beautification and event support in the downtown core — all with an eye toward creating jobs and building a more vibrant downtown.
