KEIZER, Ore. (AP) — Keizer residents can start producing eggs in their own back yards.

The Statesman Journal reports the city council voted 5-2 Monday night to change the city code to permit residents to raise up to three chickens, but no roosters.

Community Development Director Nate Brown says hens make less of an impact than a pet dog. They produce less waste and noise.
