Wakeboarding and watersport contest — INT Amateur Tour wakeboarding and waterskiing event will be held on June 25-26 Saturday and Sunday in Vancouver.

The Battle by the Boarder will take place at Tug Lake, 19913 NE43rd Circle. Registration for competitors is at 7:30 a.m. each day, with competition starting at 8:30 a.m. There is no charge for spectators. The Tug Lake event will feature all ability levels, from beginners to professional competitors in waterskiing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding and wake skating.

LITTLE LEAGUE

Little League's main season runs March-July, including All-Star play. Some leagues offer fall ball programs. Little League is an all-volunteer program. In Washington, it is organized into 11 districts, two of which serve The Columbian’s readership area. Registration for the main spring-summer season is held in January and February. Boundary maps for the leagues in those districts are available on the district Web sites (listed below).

Here is some basic Little League information:

— Most leagues offer baseball and softball. Baseball for players ages 5-18 are based on the player’s age on April 30, 2011. Softball for girls ages 5-18 are based on player’s age on Dec. 31, 2010.

— Practices began in March and the Little League season runs through mid-June, followed by all-star competition.

— Little League is run by volunteers.

— Challenger Division. Battle Ground/Highlands, Columbia, and LaCamas are leagues that offer a Challenger Division for disabled players ages 20 and younger who live in southwest Washington.

WRESTLING CAMPS

Clark County Coach-A-Roo Wrestling Camp — July 25-29 at Skyridge Middle School in Camas. Instructors include three former high school state champions from Vancouver: Ben Vom Baur, and Kyle Bounds.

Wrestlers entering grades 7-12 will have a morning session from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Those entering kindergarten through sixth grade will meet from 1:30 to 3 p.m. each day. Cost is $40 for the younger group, $80 for those entering grades 7-12. Those in the older group who stay to coach the younger group can attend for $40. Champions from the 2011 Clark County high school tournament may attend for free.
