BREMERTON, Wash. (AP) — The aircraft carrier Stennis returned to Bremerton Tuesday after nearly two months of training off the coast of Southern California.
The Kitsap Sun reports the carrier had been out of action for six months for a $137 overhaul at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
The carrier will soon return to California waters to qualify Navy pilots. This summer the Stennis is scheduled to leave on a seven-month deployment to support troops in Afghanistan.
