AUBURN, Wash. (AP) — The man killed in a neighborhood fight in Auburn has been identified as 22-year-old Shennon “Skeevie” Shelton, who helped coach football and basketball at Cascade Middle School.

The Seattle Times reports his brother, 23-year-old Gaston “Tui” Shelton, was wounded and is expected to survive. Both are brothers of University of Washington football recruit Danny Shelton, a senior at Auburn High School.

The family told police the older brothers were trying to defuse a neighborhood feud when they were shot.

The accused 19-year-old shooter told police he fired in self-defense.
