Man killed in early morning shooting in Maplewood neighborhood

Police responded to reports of a shooting at 18th and Bryant streets

A man was killed in an early morning shooting in the Maplewood neighborhood Saturday in Vancouver, the Vancouver Police Department said.

Around 3:20 a.m. Saturday, Vancouver Police responded to a report of gunshots being fired and a person lying on the sidewalk at the intersection of 18th and Bryant streets.

When officers arrived, they found a 22-year-old male unresponsive. Despite lifesaving efforts from officers, the man was pronounced dead on the scene.

VPD’s Major Crimes team is investigating. The identity of the victim will be released by the Clark County Medical Examiner’s office at a later time.
