Letter: Stand strong to protect wilderness

The Columbian
Published: May 13, 2011, 12:00am

The federal Land and Water Conservation Fund was created to support our valuable wilderness areas. Our region of the state is known for its incredible natural beauty. These areas are important to all of our residents. So far, freshman Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, has not voted to protect them when given the chance. She has voted to cut funding to this vital resource for our future.

We need our representatives to stand strong for the environment and make sure that Southwest Washington maintains its unique identity.
