Local Red Cross seeks ‘real hero’ nominees

The Southwest Washington American Red Cross is looking for “real heroes” to honor at a breakfast on March 9.

The annual Real Heroes Breakfast recognizes people who saved the lives of others through prevention, preparedness and response.

Nominations are accepted for individuals who performed an act of heroism between December 2010 and November 2011 and must live or work in Clark, Cowlitz, Pacific, Wahkiakum, Skamania or Klickitat counties.

The Red Cross recognizes people from the following categories: Medical Rescue Hero, Animal Rescue Hero, Youth Good Samaritan, Adult Good Samaritan Hero, Workplace Hero, Educational Hero and Professional Rescue Hero.

Nominations must be received by Nov. 30.
