DOVER, Del. (AP) — Andre Clark ran for two touchdowns in the second half as North Carolina Central won its first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game 14-7 over Delaware State on Saturday in its first full MEAC season.

The Eagles (2-7, 1-5) amassed 366 total yards, including 166 yards rushing by Idreis Augustus. Clark finished with 34 yards on the ground on 12 carries. North Carolina Central has won five of the past six games in the series.

North Carolina Central’s defense kept the Hornets in check most of the game. The Eagles sacked Delaware State quarterback Nick Elko seven times and picked off two of his passes. Also, Delaware State converted only 3 of 13 third-down attempts and held possession five minutes less than the Eagles.

Elko passed for 244 yards and the only touchdown for the Hornets (2-7, 0-6), who have lost seven in a row.
