Bagley Downs — On Oct. 27, volunteers from the Bonneville Power Administration helped weatherize a home being renovated for low-income ownership. Americans Building Community is leading the effort to renovate a home on Nicholson Road. BPA employees worked on the project as part of the agency’s annual Community Weatherization Day.

The volunteers removed old siding and installed insulated panels to decrease the home’s heat loss. They also demolished old concrete, pulled down rusted gutters and removed overgrown vegetation. After the renovation is complete, a qualified low-income buyer will be able to purchase the home through the Southwest Washington Community Land Trust.
