Kent State defeats Louisiana-Lafayette 75-67

KENT, Ohio (AP) — Randal Holt and Michael Porrini scored 15 points apiece as Kent State righted itself after losing an eight-point lead and defeated Louisiana-Lafayette 75-67 on Monday night.

The Golden Flashes (3-1) led 43-35 early in the second half, but the Ragin’ Cajuns (3-5) then went on a 15-2 run to lead 50-45 with 12:02 left.

A dunk by Kadeem Coleby gave Louisiana-Lafayette its final lead, 66-64, with 5:24 left before a 3-pointer by Holt put Kent State ahead to stay at the 4:26 mark. A 3-pointer by Carlton Guyton, who scored all 12 of his points in the second half, widened the margin to 71-66 with 1:04 remaining.

Justin Greene had 14 points and eight rebounds for the Golden Flashes, and Porrini had six assists.

Coleby scored 19 points to lead the Ragin’ Cajuns, and Darshawn McClellan added 17 points.
