Letter: Biblical verses show the way

I am saddened when I read about the growing popularity of gay (euphemism) marriage. Gay marriages do not produce strong families. Nevertheless, teaching and recommending the gay lifestyle is pervasive.

In the first book of the Bible is the story of Creation and the institution of marriage. Genesis 2:7: “… God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” Verse 18: “The Lord God said, ‘It is not good for man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.’ ” Verse 21: “So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep, and while he was sleeping, he took out one of the man’s ribs and closed up the place with flesh.” Verse 22: “… God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man …” Verse 24: “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife and they will become one flesh.”

God instituted marriage. Sex is the last thing God created and one of the greatest gifts to humans. I think gay marriage grieves the great heart of God.
