Amboy — Volunteers from around the Pacific Northwest, including Anthea Fallen-Bailey from Vancouver, gathered at Mount St. Helens Sept. 24 during the 2011 National Public Lands Day event. The volunteers installed more than 70 resource protection signs and posts around Johnston Ridge Observatory and the Eruption Trail, cleared brush along the Hummocks Trail and restored the Hummocks Trail entry sign. “At the end of the day, everyone enjoyed an awards ceremony and barbecue in recognition of their hard work,” said Hailey Heath, Director for Volunteer Programs for the Mount St. Helens Institute.
