SNOQUALMIE PASS, Wash. (AP) — An Idaho couple died when their car was crushed between two semi-trucks as traffic slowed through a construction zone on eastbound Interstate 90 at Snoqualmie Pass.

The Washington State Patrol identifies them as 68-year-old Jess Albert Bass and 73-year-old Jean Elaine Bass of Star, Idaho.

Two cars and three trucks were involved in the chain-reaction crash Monday that also injured five people.

The patrol says inattention on the part of one truck driver caused the crash. It backed up traffic for seven miles.
