Vancouver firefighters late Thursday night were at the scene of a play structure fire they prevented from spreading to two homes in Fisher’s Landing.

The fire in the 16700 block of Northeast Seventh Street was reported about 10:30 p.m.

The structure was burning 30-feet from one home, and also could have spread to a home behind the first home, according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian.

Firefighters quickly brought it under control, but said many hotspots remained smoldering.

By 10:45, a fire commander said other engine crews could return to their stations.

There was an indication the fire was started by a candle, a 911 official said.
