CLEVELAND (AP) — Indians slugger Jim Thome still hasn’t decided on his future and says he’s not leaning one way or another as he ponders retirement.

Thome, who earlier this season joined the exclusive 600-homer club, said Friday he’s kicked around “the ‘R’ word” but that he’ll wait until after the season and discuss it with his family before making a decision. The 41-year-old believes he’s physically capable of playing another year.

Thome says coming back to Cleveland, where he began his career, has been special and has allowed him to bring his illustrious career full circle. Thome reflected on memories before the Indians honored him before opening a series against the Minnesota Twins, who traded him to the Indians in July.
