SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Evans Okotcha rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown as UTSA rode a 34-point second quarter to a 54-7 victory Saturday over Bacone in UTSA’s homecoming game.
The Roadrunners (2-2), in their inaugural season in Division I, also got rushing scores from David Glasco II and Eric Soza. Soza added 157 yards passing and a 63-yard touchdown to Brandon Freeman, and backup John Simmons found Mike Wilburn for an 18-yard score.
UTSA intercepted Bacone’s Michael Cook three times, including one that Steven Kurfehs returned 45 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. The Roadrunners took a 41-0 lead into halftime against Bacone (1-4), an NAIA program.
Cook finished with 177 yards passing for the Warriors, spoiling UTSA’s shutout with a 71-yard touchdown strike to Anthony Ezell in the fourth. Ezell led all receivers with 102 yards.
Sean Ianno kicked four field goals, including a 45-yarder, for UTSA.
