Guitarist Doug Smith to aid Women Build project

CLARK COUNTY — Grammy-winning guitarist Doug Smith will perform Friday at a benefit for Evergreen Habitat for Humanity and its Women Build project. Julie Koch Smith will join Smith onstage, and EHFH will share highlights of its history in Clark County.

Women Build is an effort to train women in construction techniques so they can build a Habitat home. A groundbreaking ceremony for the local Women Build home was held Sept. 11.

Smith is also the winner of the 2006 Winfield International Fingerstyle Competition. The concert will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in the Fries Auditorium at the Washington State School for the Blind. Tickets are $20. Proceeds benefit Evergreen

Desserts and beverages will be provided at the concert. Tickets can be purchased through Evergreen Habitat for Humanity or at Beacock Music.
