Letter: Need for prayer greater than ever

Thursday, May 3, is the 61st annual National Day of Prayer. This year’s theme is “One Nation Under God,” taken from Psalm 33:12, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.”

God’s people, Christians, need to sincerely humble ourselves and cry out to God to forgive us and our country for sinning against Him by making laws contrary to His Word, promoting homosexuality, allowing abortion, adultery, drunkenness, etc. We are also guilty of cursing and swearing, lying, stealing, dishonoring parents and using drugs, all of which are contrary to God’s Word, the Bible.

We, as a nation, are going bankrupt and facing more problems and chaos in our country and throughout the world as a direct consequence of our ungodliness.

For information about the National Day of Prayer, go to nationaldayofprayer.org.

May God bless you as you earnestly seek Him in prayer.
