Letter: No subsidy for richest 1 percent

The Columbian
Published: August 21, 2012, 5:00pm

The economy needs the middle-class tax cuts extended without subsidy for the richest 1 percent, but the Republican majority in the House, including our representative in Congress, Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, has consistently voted as a block against such legislation.

I sincerely hope Herrera Beutler will consider the will of most Americans. I hope our members of Congress will support the current Senate bill on this matter when it comes up next for a vote.
