Letter: Poll phrasing directs responses

The Columbian
Published: December 1, 2012, 4:00pm

In regards to a recent poll on The Columbian’s website, I find it extremely biased that the poll only allows the option to agree with the notion that Commissioner-elect David Madore possesses “talent, brains, and will,” which, by the tone of the poll, seem to be unmatched among other Clark County politicians, who have not been given such high esteem.

Two of the possible options include that notion, and the other explains that “big government,” most obviously alluding to the Democrats, will block all efforts that will benefit the future of Clark County.

The Columbian prides itself on being a centrist newspaper, yet endorsed more Republicans than Democrats in the Nov. 6 election, and produces polls such as this, which do not, in my opinion, allow anyone other than a Republican to voice their values or beliefs.
