Davidson uses treys to bury Samford 81-54

DAVIDSON, N.C. (AP) — JP Kuhlman scored 16 points and Davidson shot effectively from 3-point range for an 81-54 Southern Conference victory over Samford on Tuesday night.

The Wildcats (20-6, 14-2) shot 48.3 percent (14 of 29) from long range, a better percentage than the 41.3 percent (19 of 46) the Bulldogs (10-16, 7-8) managed from the field overall.

Kuhlman was 4 of 7 on 3-pointers. Chris Czerapowicz was 4 of 9 and finished with 14 points, and Tyler Kalinoski was 3 of 5 with 10 points.

Jake Cohen added 15 points for Davidson and made his only 3-point try. Nik Cochran had nine assists.

The Wildcats, who lost 77-74 at Samford on Jan. 28, hit five 3-pointers during a 26-2 run that gave them a 34-8 lead with 7:41 remaining in the first half. They never led by fewer than 21 points in the second half.

Raijon Kelly led Samford with 14 points.
