Shots fired at Portland good Samaritan

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Police say shots were fired at a good Samaritan who tried to intervene in a purse-snatching at a TriMet bus shelter in southeast Portland.

No one was injured in the Monday night shooting. Three suspects fled down a bike trail. Officers tracked them with a police dog and detained two people for questioning.

On Tuesday, the police said they had charged a 21-year-old man, David Toedtemeier, with robbery and a parole violation.
