VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) — Reggie Hamilton scored 31 points and set the Summit League’s single-season scoring record as Oakland defeated South Dakota 84-77 on Saturday night.
Hamilton surpassed the mark of North Dakota State’s Ben Woodside, who scored 766 points in 2008-09. Hamilton has 790.
Travis Bader hit six of Oakland’s 14 3-pointers and scored 21, while Drew Valentine had 13 points and 10 rebounds. The Golden Grizzlies (17-14, 11-7) have won five consecutive league games and finished third.
Charlie Westbrook led the Coyotes (10-18, 5-13) with 21 points, finishing with 1,009 for his career. Trevor Gruis had 18 points and 14 rebounds, Louie Krogman scored 17 and Jordan Boots had 10.
