BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) — Oscar-winning director and Western Washington University alumnus T.J. Martin is returning to campus on Thursday for a screening of his documentary “Undefeated.”

The film won the Oscar for “best feature documentary” on Sunday.

“Undefeated” is Martin’s second film. It documents the struggles and successes of an inner-city Memphis, Tenn., football team.

Martin is scheduled to spend Thursday at Western talking to students, faculty and staff before a screening of “Undefeated” on campus. The 5 p.m. screening of the documentary with Martin is sold out, but university officials say people who show up early may get a seat if a ticketholder doesn’t show up.

Ticket sales for the screening will support student scholarships.
