Gadson leads Rider over Manhattan 88-77

NEW YORK (AP) — Novar Gadson scored 21 points and Brandon Penn had a double-double to lead Rider over Manhattan 88-77 on Monday night.

The Broncs (4-11, 1-2 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) shot 60.7 percent in the first half (17 of 28) and led 52-35 at the break.

Rider finished shooting 58 percent for the game (29 of 50), while holding Manhattan to 37.5 percent (24 of 64). However, the Broncs turned it over 22 times, including 12 times in the second half, leading to 15 points for the Jaspers.

Manhattan scored a total of 24 points off Rider miscues.

Penn finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Broncs, and Daniel Stewart chipped in 15 points and Anthony Myles had 10.

Kidani Brutus led Manhattan (9-6, 2-1) with 19. George Beamon added 13, Rhamel Brown 11 and Emmy Andujar 10 for the Jaspers.
