Mobile Food Bank seeks new volunteers

La Center — The Lewis River Mobile Food Bank is looking for volunteers to help bring food to hungry people in rural North Clark County. Its food trailer delivers to a different site each Sunday afternoon and allows people to choose food they'll serve in their homes. Volunteers of all sorts are welcome.

"We are currently in need of someone with a vehicle that can pull the food trailer to our delivery site on the fourth Sunday of the month," said organizer Candice Howell.

The regular schedule is 2 to 4 p.m. on the:

• First Sunday of the month at the View Fire Station, 37604 NE 119th Ave., La Center.

• Second Sunday at the Fire District 2 Station, 314 N.W. 389th Street, La Center.

• Third Sunday at Yacolt's Evangelical Free Church, 509 West Cushman.

• Fourth Sunday at La Center's Evangelical Free Church, 111 E. Fifth Street.

Since late 2009, the volunteer-run mobile food bank has delivered nearly 100,000 pounds of food and assisted more than 7,300 people.
