Phase 1 of Battle Ground’s Southeast Grace Avenue Improvement Project is now under way and will continue through the summer. The $6.4 million Phase 1 improvements, launched last week, will reconstruct the busy arterial between Eaton and Rasmussen boulevards.

Upgrades will consist of two travel lanes with a center turn lane at various access points; bike lanes; sidewalks, streetlights; and landscaping. Water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure also will be installed. Two subsequent phases will improve Southeast Grace north to Main Street and the intersections of Northeast and Southeast Grace and Main.

Project contractor Rotschy, Inc. estimates construction of Phase 1 will be completed in October, dependent on weather conditions. The entire length of Grace Avenue will remain open to traffic throughout the construction period, with occasional minor delays.
