WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) — Kyle O’Quinn scored 13 points and helped Norfolk State pull away in the second half to defeat Florida A&M 58-46 Friday night in the semifinals of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament.

The Spartans (24-9), who won their sixth straight game, will play Bethune-Cookman in Saturday’s championship game. Norfolk State beat Bethune-Cookman 75-72 on Feb. 25.

O’Quinn, who also had eight rebounds and two blocks, scored seven points in a first half that ended with the Spartans leading 23-22 after O’Quinn’s layup. With balanced scoring from Rob Johnson (12 points) and Quasim Pugh (10 points off the bench), Norfolk State extended its lead to 47-38, then slowly pulled away down the stretch.

Forward Amin Stevens posted a double-double (20 points, 11 rebounds) for FAMU, which lost 79-70 to Norfolk State on Feb. 27. But Stevens was the only player in double figures for the Rattlers (10-23).
