Wieters four hits, six RBIs for Orioles

SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) — Matt Wieters had a three-run homer among his four hits and drove in six runs, Adam Jones and Robert Andino each added three hits and Jake Arrieta worked five solid innings as the Baltimore Orioles beat the Washington Nationals 12-3 on Saturday.

Wieters had just four hits in 12 games and was batting .129 coming in. He hit a three-run home run in the third off Edwin Jackson. Wieters increased his batting average exactly 100 points to .229.

Jones has five hits in his last six at-bats.

Jackson allowed 10 runs — seven earned — and 11 hits in 3 2-3 innings. In his last three starts, he has allowed 13 earned runs and 23 hits in 11 innings.

The Nationals are 0-10-1 in their last 11 games.
