Volcanoes get close win over Olympia

Dominique Watson scored 31 points, and Calvin Hampton had 15 points and 12 rebounds as the Vancouver Volcanoes improved to 3-0 with a 117-116 International Basketball League win over the Olympia Reign on Friday at the O’Connell Center.

Olympia (1-4) led by as much as 13 points at 89-76 in the third quarter.

There were 12 lead changes and six ties in the game.

Antwan Williams scored 18 points, Andre Murray 17 and Alex Hartman 12 for the Volcanoes.

Olympia was led by Giovonne Woods’ 31 points and 10 assists.

Vancouver next plays the Portland Chinook at 7 p.m. today at the 212 Sports Complex in Clackamas.
