Tacoma: 4 hurt when SUV crashes into grocery store

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) -- Several people are reported injured after an SUV crashed into the Tacoma Food Co-op.

Tacoma Deputy Fire Chief Faith Mueller says a female driver hit the store's main entrance shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday.

KOMO-TV reports three injured customers and the driver were taken to a hospital. Their condition was not known.

Police spokesman Mark Fulghum says the driver may have had some sort of medical issue.

Co-op general manager Henri Parren tells The News Tribune that the driver appeared to pass out behind the wheel and drove straight through the front door.
