An overturned tanker truck on Monday jammed early morning traffic on the Glenn Jackson Bridge.
Portland firefighters responded around 2:30 a.m. to the overturned truck that was blocking all southbound lanes of Interstate 205 near Airport Way, according to a Portland Fire & Rescue bulletin.
The truck was carrying 1,500 gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel. A small amount of fuel leaked from the truck’s “saddle” tanks but the larger tanks were not leaking, PF&R said.
The driver of the truck was not injured. The driver’s name was not released. No other injuries were reported. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Crews eventually opened outside lanes to traffic. The scene was cleared around 6:30 a.m.
