Pendleton Woolen Mills is preparing for its 2013 Founder’s Tribute honoring patriarch, Thomas Kay. The tribute to the English fabric craftsman will include the release of a limited run of a craft-style microbrew, Pendleton Lager.

The 200-case limited run of Pendleton Lager will be available this month. Distribution focuses on retailers in four markets associated with Pendleton’s Pacific Northwest history and heritage including Washougal, the site of Pendleton’s largest mill.

Other target sites for sales of the lager are Portland, Pendleton’s corporate headquarters; Pendleton, Ore., home of the company’s original mill, which opened in 1909; and the Salem, Ore., location of Thomas Kay’s first mill.
